On this week's Q&A

1. Dominique

"Hi - I have come round to the fact that I have a food addiction but here’s the thing.... is not junk food - I eat very healthy paleo/carnivore. But it’s the quantity and emotional eating. Do you, or do know anyone who I can go to for help with this. Any website I can turn to? I trust you and your advice so much I would love some direction."

2. Ketograms5

"Should all post menopausal women be on bio identical estrogen and progesterone?"

3. Eldav

"Wondering how you feel about bioidentical progesterone in pill form. Is it as safe as cream?"

4. Corine

"Hi Karen! Loving your podcasts and all the fascinating info! I was wondering what your advice would be for very heavy periods. I’m 33 and in my 20s I had 5 years of functional hypothalamic amenorrhea. I’m now having crazy heavy periods (first day light, then 3 days of nothing then 3 days of the bloody Mississippi!(changing my heavy tampon every hour) then 3-4 days of lighter (10 days total menstruation) so much blood loss is affecting my energy and performance levels. And I’m eating a lot of meat to try to gain some blood volume and iron back but it’s hard! I also get PMS symptoms before or during my period. (Moody, depressed, emotional, sore boobs). I’ve also noticed weight gain in my muffin tops and stomach.... I don’t want to have to go on an IUD. Is there any other options. EstroSmart seemed to help with PMS a bit but the last podcast with Dr. Saladino scared me because a lot of the ingredients in there, he advised are toxic."

 5. Kylee

"Hey Karen, I just came across your podcast and I’m loving it. I’m 27 and just had my last (3rd) baby. I’ve been diagnosed with Microscopic Colitis and IBS, I also have a lactose intolerance. All of these things work against me and eating raw veggies, meat really hurts my stomach, so weight loss is a real struggle because every healthy lifestyle revolves around a clean diet which I absolutely love veggies and fresh fruit but it makes me super sick. Is this something that others have issues with when their hormones are off? Or is it just a medical issue that I need to take medication for. (I’ve tried many medications and many diet restrictive diets) yet I feel really crummy. And it’s worsened with each new baby. So my question is; Can medically diagnosed health conditions be treated with hormone therapy?"

6. Lacey

"I am a 33 y.o. and have been happily doing a meat heavy diet. I have been breastfeeding a 4 month old.  my question is: is it pretty normal to have interrupted sleep (difficulty falling back asleep while breastfeeding)? I try to go to bed as early as I can after dark but have been lying awake and unable to sleep from early am hours (sometimes 2-3 am until dawn) while listening to my husband and baby sleep in the bedroom around me. This sleeplessness isn't every night. Increasing carbs has helped with my sleep and perceived stress levels...more rice, cooked fruit, cooked root vegetables."
